What I do
Welcome to my page. I have been recording and producing music for over ten years, and my studio reflects the ideals and experience I have gathered over the many hundreds of hours I have spent, not only behind a mixing desk, but also understanding the process of getting a recording that suits the material from a musician's perspective.
Central studios is a hybrid studio; Computer based hard disk systems are fine for simply storing digital data, but a great sounding record is more than digital perfection, and many pure digital systems offer precision and clarity but lack the musicality and warmth many of us are used to hearing on classic records. On the other hand, pure analogue systems, although they offer a warmth and fullness of character, are notorious for large levels of background noise, and the equipment can be prone to problems such as old or dry solder connections, which can cause temperamental and unreliable recordings and leave your mix sounding weak or thin.
In order to offer the best possible scenario for recording and mixing in the modern environment, I have selected what I consider to be the best of both worlds.
Here is a brief summary of the recording equipment I use:

Here is a brief summary of the recording equipment I use:
- A choice of modern and vintage style microphones including makes such as Neuman, Rode, Shure, Langlevin and Royer.
- Valve analouge pre-amps, including channels from TL audio, DBX, Focusrite and Trident.
- Professional grade Motu HD192 digital interfaces, Apple Pro G5 with Logic Pro, allowing large track numbers and virtually unlimited processing capability.
- SSL Duende plug-in system, console grade analogue modelling EQs and dynamics.
- Neve 8816 with 8814 analogue summing mixer for final mixes and finishing.
